Portrait Drawing Workshop for Beginners to Intermediate

9:30AM-4PM (with 1/2 hour lunch break)

This workshop is for both the beginners and intermediate artists and concentrates on learning how to draw a portrait - a wonderful area of concentration, but also a fundamental step that can help you move on to other mediums in portraiture. Working from a live model, the workshop will cover concepts including light & shadow, shapes, values & edges. Learn easy steps of observation that simplify ways to getting a likeness.
How the use of differing drawing materials create varying effects with line, shading and form. Other areas of discussion will be different ways to light your model, use of existing photographs and ways to help to make your interpretation of those photos more life like.
There will be a small demo in the morning, but concentration will be on the students time to draw.
