Help Support the Trustees by bidding on the paintings at South Street Gallery of Hingham.

Hurry bidding is ending on August 17. You may view all paintings on the South Street Gallery website and then simply call to place a bid or feel free to stop by and view the work in person.

Calming Waves

Calming Waves (Plein Air)  8"X8" Oil Painting

My annual plein air trip to Maine with a group of my artist friends was, as always so productive, enjoyable and outright fun. I cannot quite decide if I need to work on this piece a yittle bit more in studio just to clean a few things up. Hmmm...
It was such a calming week especially during these tumultuous times. So it seemed a perfect fit to me for the GJWP category of "Calm" this month. It felt so good to be disconnected while up in Maine. Phones barely work. Internet kept giving the spinning wheel. I embraced and enjoyed it. Ignorance is bliss at times. Wishing everyone peace and calm in their lives.

I also wanted to let everyone know that the drawing was held for my fundraiser for Alzheimer's Association and Marina M. was the winner. Congratulations to Marina. I reached my goal of $2,000 with all your kind help so a big shout out of thank you to all of you that supported and contributed to this campaign in the fight against Alzheimer's. Although the drawing is done this year, you can still donate to this great cause here: Alzheimer's Longest Day. I will be joining the cause again next year, so if you are interested in a drawing of another one of my paintings, it is held the same time every year. Check back to my blog early spring of 2019 to join in on the fun for a great cause.

Let's fight against Alzheimers together-with a possible chance to win a painting...

Alzheimers has effected so many of our loved ones lives. To help with this cause, I will be holding a drawing for one of my paintings in support of The Longest Day-The Alzheimer's organization yearly campaign in the fight against Alzheimers.

I have created a pastel landscape painting sized 12"X12" and on June 21, will hold this drawing (no pun intended). For every donor who has donated at least $20 or over, their name will be placed in a drawing for a chance to win the piece of artwork shown above. (U.S. Residents only, Framing not included.)
All details are in this link-Margaret Farrell Bruno-The Longest Day Alzheimer's Org campaign if you would like a chance to win this painting or would just like to donate to help with this cause. Thank you for any help in this wonderful cause.

Into The Night

Into The Night, Pastel 12"X16"

The Girls Just Wanna Paint group I belong to had the latest challenge of "Color" as our monthly theme. I was also producing a painting for an Invitational Show of Nocturne paintings being held at The Cecil Bryne Gallery in Charleston, SC, which fit right into the concept. Show runs from May 4TH - June 30TH, Link Here.
The scene was early night with the last of the brilliant color light piercing the sky before it fell off into the horizon. Local building's lights had all come on mimicking the sky color.

"Luxury Lake" 8"X8" Pastel Margaret Farrell Bruno

Latest GJWP challenge painting with the theme of "Luxury". Luxury to me is not a piece of jewelry, fancy clothing or a residence filled with expensive furnishings and items. More rewarding is a luxurious end of the day peaceful, beautiful sunset reflecting on a summer Maine Lake.
